Cara Hunter Joins Parachute Media’s Team as Account Coordinator

Cara Hunter brings fresh ideas and natural leadership skills along with a passion for the digital marketing space to our account team at Parachute Media.

Cara recently graduated at the top of her class from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she studied public relations and business. After spending her summer interning with us and wrapping up her final semester this past fall, she has returned to her homeland of Nashville to begin her career journey as an account coordinator at Parachute.

During Cara’s internship with us, she was a major asset when planning out key pieces of Kirkland’s rebrand launch with 30 Days of Happiness, and she also sharpened up on a few technical skills like blog writing, graphic design, and content management. Before working with us, Cara supported the growth, engagement, and overall digital awareness for the University of Tennessee School of Advertising and Public Relations’ brand as a communications specialist. She also had the opportunity to spend a semester abroad studying advertising in Italy- see a video she made of her time across the pond here.

When she’s not at the office, you can find Cara trying a new workout, reading a book, or appetizer-hopping around downtown Nashville (because everyone knows the appetizer is the most delicious part of the meal). See below to learn more about the newest member of our team.

What sparked your interest in digital marketing?

I have always been drawn towards all types of communication and building relationships. Ever since my first social media internship, I have been interested in effectively communicating through the digital space. Marketing has so many opportunities for improvement and growth, and I can’t wait to be a part of these changes!

What is something quirky about you?

I’ve been to over 300 concerts. My dad loves music, so we bond by going to shows. We even go to Bonnaroo together!

Who is one of your personal heroes and why?

Priscilla Tsai, the founder of Cocokind, a clean, conscious and accessible skincare company that prioritizes women’s empowerment, is one of my many professional heroes. I am very passionate about natural skincare, and Tsai believes that all individuals deserve to take care of their skin and their health for a low price. Additionally, she launched a mentorship program where she advises one female entrepreneur every month. As a female entrepreneur herself, Tsai has become one of my role models because she uses her platform to positively impact everyone who comes in contact with her brand.

What is your grand, audacious goal?

Instead of viewing my goals as grand or audacious, I like to think of them more as attainable steps towards improvement. My main aspiration is to become a better human and find joy in every day. And… give Elvis one hug every day.

In your work or creative process, what do you love creating the most?

I love developing a message and finding a way to make it more effective and concise. Words are so powerful, but you don’t need many of them to make an impact.

If you could Skype with anyone living or dead, who would it be?

Alexander Hamilton. I would love to get his opinion on his life being turned into hip hop/R&B musical.
