The Creative:

Earlier this fall, Merrell announced they were launching a throwback version of their top-selling shoe- the Ontario. The throwback version was called the Ontario 85, and was created as a wink and a nod to the year 1985. When we were tasked with coming up with an iconic way to get the word out about this shoe, it was a natural fit to tie into the iconic movie from the year 1985, Back to the Future.

We found a few different angles of the legendary Delorean from the movie, and modeled the product shot of the shoe after those images. It started with shooting images of the shoe on a solid white background from different angles. Then, we went to work with some serious Photoshop magic – masking, overlays, brushing, and adjustment layers galore! After getting a solid draft, we added more depth, shading and detail to the image. The final product was a Delorean success!
